ARTIST PROFILE
May 23, 2021
Proceso Gelladuga born in 1980 is a multi-talented artist whose focus has been in contemporary dance performance and choreography until he found his passion for painting. He was a senior company member of Airdance, a leading contemporary dance company in the Philippines before coming to Hong Kong.
His interest in the visual arts started when he was young drawing portrait of friends and designing costumes for his choreographies. But, he has not taken up painting seriously until 2008. A self-taught painter, his discovery of painting enabled him to translate the same passion that he has for dance into another medium of artistic
expression.
Encouraged and mentored by his father in law artist Renato Habulan, He has exhibited in Manila for Boston Gallery, Gallery Joaquin, Gallery Anna, Nineveh Art Space, Galerie Stephanie, Artcube and Eskinita Gallery. He has also exhibited in Culture Club Gallery and A-Gallery in HK. His painting series titled “Excess Baggage” with their witty depiction of life as a foreign worker has been very well received in
Manila Art Philippines and in Singapore Art Trek in 2010. His themes focus mainly on the plight of migrants, immigrants, refugees and children caught up in war conflicts. Themes that a migrant worker and father like himself can relate to.
He currently works as a parade dancer at HK Disneyland.
